Angel
Takes Her Life Back!
Angel developed a love of fitness from necessity.
Faced with 50 pounds to lose after back to back babies, she turned to the
gym. Through diet and exercise, she was able to meet her goals and was
introduced to a new way of life. Thankfully, she decided she wanted to share
this with women just like her. Although recently certified, she has the
drive and passion of a seasoned professional. We are excited to have her as
a member of our team.
IT’S
NEVER TOO LATE!
Until recently, it was difficult to find
the time for an organized exercise program with the demands of a job and
family. At age 64, Dana joined her first gym, BodyWatts. Now that she has
time for herself, she is taking care of her body and protecting it from bone
loss. Dana is an early morning regular at BodyWatts. Often you will see her
lifting weights and engaging her core in exercises that strengthen her lower
back. Dana says “I never thought I would be comfortable in a gym setting,
but I feel comfortable in the all women atmosphere at BodyWatts and the
members and staff are very friendly”.
Improved my golf swing
Earlier this summer, I was evaluated at a golf
facility for fitness and flexibility. I was upset to learn that I was a 6
out of 10 on flexibility. I joined BodyWatts and worked with Ellie, my
personal trainer. She designed a very diverse program consisting of bands,
weights and abdominal work and stretching. I am happy to say that I am now
more flexible and have shaved a few strokes off my golf game in just a few
short weeks.
I would like to thank BodyWatts and Ellie Taylor,
for a comfortable and workable atmosphere, were women can benefit from a
variety of physical activities. The bottom line is to enjoy your exercise
time with your personal trainer who is helping you to improve your everyday
life and in my situation my golf swing.

The
Truck Driver Stopped for
the Pretty Lady
“I always stop for a Pretty Lady”,
the Truck Driver said to Joyce as she crossed in front of his truck.
Joyce recently celebrated her 1 year anniversary
at BodyWatts. She has lost 32 pounds, a total of 25 inches, and 8% body fat.
Her success is due to her persistence and dedication to fitness. Joyce works
out a hour per day, 6 days per week. She combines cardio and strength
training into her daily routine. She also works out with her personal
trainer, Ellie Taylor, who helps to keep her energized and motivated. Two
days a week she works out with her friend and workout partner, Claudia.
Joyce even works out while on vacation or business trips. WOW, that’s
dedication. While in the weight room at a hotel, a gentleman asked her how
long she had been weight training. When Joyce replied “one year”, he said
“Wow, you’re in great shape!”
I’m
Samantha Turner and I finished the GRRL’s program at BodyWatts this summer.
My aunt saw an ad for this program and I signed up right away. I will say,
before this program I was lazy and overweight. And I was only 14! I never
felt like just going for a run, and would eat whatever I wanted. I played
sports but that wasn’t helping because of my food habits. I was made fun of
because of my weight. But all this changed this summer. I started the GRRL’s
program with a wall up and a little shy. But by the 2nd week I was my usual
outgoing self. I loved it! Bonnie was a blessing in my life. And of course,
the other girls are like my sisters now. At the end of this program, I found
out that anyone who hasn’t tried Zumba, Yoga, or Pilates is missing so much.
To me, these are the most fun of working out. I’ve lost about 16 lbs and
3.5% of my body fat. I go for walks after dinner every night and when I went
out for field hockey tryouts, I blew the other girls away! I look and feel
great and am more confident. Thanks so much GRRL’s program and please
support this for next year and I’ll be there in a heartbeat! - Samantha

Her Pants Fell Down!!
When
I first started training with Ellie at BodyWatts, I was approaching a size I
never thought I would wear. I was feeling weak and tired.
Several weeks ago, I was wondering what to wear to my granddaughter’s
christening. I tried on a pair of pants that I hadn’t worn in ages. They
fell down to my hips!! I had to go shopping!!
After 1 year with Ellie, I am now wearing my old size again (the size I
hadn’t been able to wear for 8 years). It feels wonderful!!! - Nancy

CONFIDENCE REGAINED!
After
my mother was diagnosed with emphysema, I quit smoking and packed on 20
pounds. My self esteem plummeted. I did not feel comfortable in my own skin,
much less a bathing suit and began feeling very down about myself. Having
been a member of a gym before, I was not sure what to expect at BodyWatts.
What I can tell you is that BodyWatts is much more than a gym!
Thank you so much to the BodyWatts team for all you have to offer and all
you do for your members. I attend the classes and free workshops and follow
the lifestyle program given me during the regular fitness assessments.
If it wasn’t for your guidance and care as a
team, I would not have had the drive to be able to run a 5K. Each team
member has taken an interest in helping me at one point or another in
reaching my fitness goals. I have learned how to tone and strengthen my body
and my mind. I now know how to fuel my body by making smart nutritional
choices. I have lost a total of 5.5 inches and 3% body fat. My confidence
has shot back up and I feel better about myself as a person. I know that if
I want something badly enough, with hard work, it is attainable. I am so
very proud of myself. - Amber Lawrence
Katrina 40 pounds lighter in body and spirit.
Katrina
has been a member of BodyWatts for two months and she has lost 40 pounds.
She had been working out on her own for 5 years, but the birth of her two
children added to increased weight, high blood pressure and high
cholesterol. In January she decided to get serious about her health and
began training with BodyWatts personal trainer, Linda. She meets with Linda
two hours a week and does cardio on her own three times a week. She drops
into BodyWatts classes when she has the chance and he dropped from 200
pounds to 159. Katrina goal is to be 145 with a toned body by July.
Katrina says “Working out has been a stress reliever and
it’s something that I love to do. My goal is to continue to enjoy being who
I am and strengthen myself in mind, body and spirit. I believe that all
women should set aside time for themselves, because we often put everyone
else first. Thank you BodyWatts for the support and encouragement!”
Morgan
Before & Morgan after BodyWatts...
Morgan joined BodyWatts in January 08 and
ran in last April's Oxford Run, started training with Bonnie and is down
several dress sizes. Her endurance has increased dramatically and she and
her workout buddy, Jen, are motivators for other women at BodyWatts.
Now I can Touch My Toes!!!
When
I first started taking Yoga, I couldn’t even touch my toes. I had been doing
strength training and aerobics but I wasn’t very flexible. Because of Yoga,
I can now touch my toes, as well as do lots of balancing poses. I love Yoga
so much but I wanted to take my journey further so I tried Pilates Reformer
and that has made me even more flexible.

My Doctor says “HOLY COW!”
I
had been experiencing extreme emotional pain in my life from a loss that
occurred two and a half years ago. I had no desire to get up in the morning,
much less to exercise. I knew that I should, but couldn’t sp consequently my
cholesterol, blood pressure, pulse rate, and of course, my weight got out of
control.
I made up my mind this summer that I was only hurting myself and vowed to do
all that I could to take better care of me. I was having lunch with a friend
who was working out at BodyWatts and she looked terrific, so I thought that
I would join. I signed up for the Ultra Fitness Membership and worked out
every day with the encouragement of my trainer, Ellie.
After three months of exercising at BodyWatts every day, I went to see my
doctor for a routine checkup. As he looked back in my chart at my last visit
his words were “HOLY COW”. I had lost 17 pounds, my resting heart rate was
lower, and my blood pressure was down.
The entire staff at BodyWatts is so encouraging. They greet me by name every
morning and I love to hear the “GREAT JOB JOYCE!” Last week, I had a bitter
sweet moment when I tried on my favorite leather jacket and it was TOO BIG.
- Joyce Philip, age 69
DEMETRIA, GOES FROM A SIZE 22 TOA SIZE 16.
SHE SAYS
“I did it for me!”
I
have very proud to say that, I’m very proud to be a member of BodyWatts. I
have found that when I started this time it was very different for me. I made
it a point to come in the morning. This was best for me because I have two
children that needed me before I left in the morning. After coming in the
morning for a while I started to join the classes and made it an everyday
thing. Even though this meant being there a little earlier than usually. This
went over so well with me and my daily routine. The kids understood and began
to encourage me as I continued on.
The first month in my goal was to lose 10lbs and I did just that. This 10 lbs
did not come easy by a long shot. I came in to the gym in the morning, in the
evening before class if I had time and then after my classes were over and I
would go home change my clothes and down the streets of St. Michaels I would
trample. I thank BodyWatts for being there when I needed it the most. The
encouragement that I have received from family, friends and new friends that I
have accumulated since I have been here.
I reached a point where I was not losing any weight (plateau) I did not get
discouraged I worked even harder. So for me this meant that after class was
over I would stay 30 minutes longer at first, then it went to 45 minutes doing
the elliptical and then I graduated to the bike and so on an so forth. I also
walk on Sundays with a group of ladies.. I have finally come down from a 20/22
to a 16 which is quite the difference. I am so glad to be here and to be able
to encourage anyone that I can just to do their best. I DID THIS FOR
ME!!!!!!!! THANK YOU. Thanks to Lee George and everyone at Bodywatts I will be doing my first marathon ever in January ’09. I am so proud
of me!
Barb Reinhardt
Barb
first came to BodyWatts 2 years ago with the goal of getting back into her red
dress. She began a personal training program and eventually added Pilates to
completely transform her body.
Barb not only got into that red dress again but
she has gone from a size 16 to a size 6.
She has continued to keep exercise a part of her
daily routine and she continues to reap the benefits.
Do You Want to Lose Weight?
My name is Jean Scott
and I
started at BodyWatts in May. I was heavy, tired and feeling uncomfortable. I
saw an ad saying “Do you want to lose weight?” My answer was YES I DO!
As of 8/14/07, I have lost 16 lbs. and a total of
16+ inches. The staff is wonderful and I enjoy coming here.
Trainer, Bonnie Brown says, “It’s been a pleasure to watch Jean take control
of her health and consequently her life. She shows up regularly and works hard
while she’s here. She’s a perfect example of how to change your body through
commitment. - Way to go,
Jean!
Kitty says…
“Weight
management has been a challenge for me my whole life. There is so much
commercialism that impacted what I did, what I cooked or what I tried to do to
get fit. I have read so many articles and books you would think I would know
what was best but I didn’t always make the right choice. BodyWatts has helped
me to stay on track and dispel the myths that often threw me off track. All of
the trainers at Bodywatts give positive feedback and can answer or find the
answer to almost any issue that you need. I had read on multiple occasions
that having a coach can make a difference especially when you go through those
plateaus. It truly has and I can’t thank these professionals enough.”
Ashley increases her speed and agility at BodyWatts.
Prior
to going to BodyWatts, I would wake up at 6am on Saturday mornings and drive
to Herndon, Virginia, an hour and a half away, in order to attend a speed and
agility training session for softball.
Being a high school student, the last thing I wanted to do was get up early on
one of my two mornings to sleep in, but it was the only option, considering it
was the closest place to receive speed and agility training. Then I discovered
the trainers at BodyWatts. They were able to provide me with not only speed
training, but also strength conditioning. The training I received at BodyWatts
was as good as what I received in Virginia, except over an hour closer.
TIME
FOR ME NOW!
After retiring last year,
I decided that my new job would be getting myself back in shape. Knowing that
diet is only one part of the picture, I joined BodyWatts in November 2006.
A gym with just ladies was much less intimidating for someone like me who is
neither athletic nor particularly coordinated. To my amazement I have found
exercises that I love: weights, crunches, and Pilates. I’m very pleased with
the results, too. I have better posture, slimmer waist, arms, and legs,
increased height, and an inner sense of well being. My younger self is
starting to reappear, and that’s exciting…
BodyWatts is not just a gym to improve one’s physique. It’s a meeting
place for ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes. We share each other’s
successes and setbacks. Many of us have established new friendships. A
friendly, welcoming place, BodyWatts is part of my daily routine.
Thank you Lorri, Bonnie and Laura for getting me back on track. Your
expertise, guidance, friendliness, and genuine concern make coming to BodyWatts a wonderful experience for all of us.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GIRLS!
Bevlee Kegan 48 years old
I’m
48 years young and have worked out almost all of my life, belonged to several
gyms and done all kinds of workouts. Then I joined BodyWatts, and until
recently didn’t really understand just how important working out in this kind
of atmosphere is. I knew I needed to work out to stay healthy, keep my weight
down, etc. but never realized how important it was for me emotionally,
socially and psychologically. When my mother passed away almost a year ago, I
started to isolate, stopped going to the gym and got depressed. It showed on
the inside as well as the outside, until one day I realized I had to get back
into the game of life. The staff at BodyWatts are wonderful caring people
that will work with you and help you to achieve your goals, whether it’s
losing weight, strength training, or in my case, getting back into life. So I
started personal training and not only have I gotten back into life,
but I have gotten back my stamina, strength and endurance and have never felt
better. I highly recommend BodyWatts to all women, regardless of your age,
size or situation.
Bonnie Brown - 44 years old
50
lbs heavier than today and miserable! I couldn’t make it up a flight of steps
without effort, I couldn’t play with my child, and I felt terrible about
myself. I decided I’d had enough and started on a regimen of reduced calories
and increased exercise. Less eating in restaurants and more cooking at home. I
started to feel better as soon as the weight started to come off. I was on a
roll. I have managed to keep the weight off for 12 years through continued
diet and exercise. After coming to work at BodyWatts, I committed to a
program that would tone the body parts that were still saggy as a result of
weight loss. I have toned and strengthened my body in the 6 months that I have
worked here. I feel better than I have in a lot of years. Today I am a mother
and a grandmother that dares my child and grandchild to keep up with me. I
believe that if it happened for me it can happen for anyone. The atmosphere at
BodyWatts makes it easy.
